Join the PBWA/Renew Your Membership

To join the Professional Basketball Writers Association or renew membership for the upcoming season, an applicant must meet the criteria outlined in the PBWA’s bylaws and pay a $25 annual membership fee.

Becoming a PBWA member does not guarantee you will receive media credentials from specific teams or from the NBA. Indeed, already possessing credentials typically is a precursor for membership. Writers who are not regularly credentialed to cover professional basketball are encouraged first to review the membership criteria outlined in the bylaws and then contact a PBWA officer — President Howard Beck, Vice President Sam Amick, Vice President Candace Buckner, Vice President Steve Bulpett, Vice President Keith Pompey or Treasurer K.C. Johnson — to inquire about their eligibility.
