The public relations staff of the Golden State Warriors has been named the 2013-14 winner of the Brian McIntyre Media Relations Award, which is presented each season to an NBA public relations staff that exemplifies the standards of professionalism and excellence worthy of acclaim, the Professional Basketball Writers Association announced today.
Other nominees included the PR staffs of the Dallas Mavericks, Detroit Pistons, Miami Heat and Toronto Raptors.
The Warriors’ staff now becomes the second PR staff to win the award twice, joining the Indiana Pacers. The Warriors last won the award at the end of the 2009-10 season.
The award is named for Brian McIntyre, the longtime former NBA public relations director.
Previous winners include the staffs of the Milwaukee Bucks, Phoenix Suns, Portland Trail Blazers and Raptors.
The PBWA comprises approximately 175 writers and editors who cover the NBA on a regular basis and work for newspapers, Internet services and magazines.
